Other Talks
TED Talks are AWESOMEEEEEE :)
here are three videos from TED conferences from a year ago that pretty much express to you how saturated i am in these talks every single day in school, in the food movement, at my internships, and what people are talking about all day long about FOOD FOOD FOOD.
I think they kick some food for thought’s ass! ;)
Louise Fresco: Feeding the Whole World on how bread has become a symbol of privilege, and how to tackle the problem of food security by connecting yourself back to where you fit into your own food chain
Mark Bittman: What’s Wrong with What We Eat on Meat’s effects on health and how we now rely on less than 1% of the population to produce and dictate to us what we eat and the history of the disappearing act of the sit down family meal.
Ann Cooper: School Lunches on educating and nourishing children, how are children going to be smart and healthy if they’re sick and fat from what they eat all day long?
I think what’s interesting to note as a common theme that most initiatives out there are whole hearted yet completely underfunded, under supported, and people who really care are spread thin.
Changing the world is recession proof. so many job postings everyday for all yous out of work out there on initiatives with FOOD and changing the way this country eats. It can no longer be ignored. Awareness is key,
So What are you having for dinner tonight?
;)
