Detox me guud.

Mmm, nothing like giving in to your body when it tells you exactly what it needs… :)

GOOD FOOD,

GOOD SLEEP,

GOOD RELAXATION TIME AFTER SOME KICK ASS WORKOUTS.

last week i completely dropped my books, and spent some quality alone time, shopping for food, cooking, eating, and working out (3 times in 4 days) i even went swimming!! delllightful!! ;)

really,

is that really it?

All the simple things in life that can be done and so over looked with a busy urban young mid twenties kind of lifestyle, really can save your life in the end.

Learning to balance is the most valuable lesson in Grad school that i’ve learned so far.  Mom’s all over can never stress enough that eating healthy, drinking tons of water, getting enough sleep, and enjoying yourself with great exercise is tried tested and true.  and Mom IS always right, especially when things go completely awry and you’re having the worst week ever.  I was so out of wack last week, emotionally, physically …and i have the world’s most sensitive body.  So I finally gave in.  Sometimes, all a girl needs is some good “take care of yourself” alone time, and that’s exactly what has made me feel so much better :)

“You’re just a person who needs to be on top of things all the time, and i know it’s hard, but it’s ok not to ALWAYS be on top of your shit sometimes… you’re trying your best and you’re human…”

Yeaa, and I just needed to go back to the basics, and tell you what? after a week of Detox — I FEEL AWESOME again :)

I’ve been having a fabulous meatless week full of vegetables, salads, yogurt with granola and maple syrup, apples, bananas, sauteed fish, sushi, baked fish, oatmeal in the morning, barley soup with carrots, and fresh home made jlo NANA bread :) hellsss yeaaa :) and YUMMY.

I’m so proud of myself :) and I want to celebrate that! yay! it’s all about the small victories in life, or at least celebrating all the happy that can put things into a better perspective.

Now i just have to keep up the good work in listening to my body, when it’s stressed, and what it actually needs in order for me to feel good and thrive at all the other parts of my life :)

this also goes to show that when you feed your body according to what it needs instead of what you want, things could go very very guud. :)

I’ve also started a Alcohol free month. and I’m committing it to you right here. (omg that champagne on new years is going to be YUM. one glass. that’s it. and it’s going to be a good one…and definitely something to look forward to!)

time to get back on track, conquer my game,

and to treat myself well*

hope you are treating you well too :)

always,
