C is for Cookie, and Carrot?

from “c is for cookie, and cookie is for me!”
to “cookies are a sometimes food”

I DIG IT. :)
cookie monster w. veg

Wow so much uproar and discussion since 2005 about Cookie monster changing the way he eats -

people, icons never die.
they live in our hearts,
and if people are making efforts to change and educate important information about our health and wellness in a more digestible way (har har har)
then let it happpennn!!! let the love happen!

But i guess it’s always good when people react strongly about change — that means it’s time for it.

I know growing up my parents always taught me “everything in moderation” and i’m glad pbs is incorporating that into their shows.
Think about it,
variety and nutrition are always tough subjects when it comes to kids, because kids want what they want, and they want it NOW, and exhausted parents usually just give it to them.

perhaps i should come up with another kind of traveling show — one i bring into schools.
hmm, the clocks are churning, the wheels are moving…
some help Uncle Kao?

I mean, sometimes when i do all my grad school readings, and i think at the rate in which we as humans have been manipulating nature,
i get overwhelmed too and think we’re heading in a complete CRASH and BURN situation.
it’s kind of scary.

and just like how sesame street helped to make my childhood fears go away and made monsters friendlier,
can puppets help me teach kids about the monsters of AgriBusiness and the importance of Advocacy in Food Policy?

Let’s hope so,
and someone’s gotta try right?

at least we know the first lady is! LOVE herrrrr

The first lady called her appearance Tuesday on “Sesame Street” probably the best thing she’s done since arriving in the White House. (AP Photo/Sesame Workshop, Richard Termine))
