Maple Syrup Goes with Everything.
It does,
It really does.
I’ve been testing out this theory.
a lil sweetness here,
and a lil indulgence there.
my new favourite snack any time of day
is organic vanilla flavoured yogurt topped with
granola, dried fruit, and maple syrup.
mmmm.
sausage and eggs – maple syrup!
steak and frites? – maple syrup!
warm bacon and onion spinach salad? – maple syrup!
hahahaha
but there is also lot of be said about control.
i’ve been living a no rules – live by the moment -live by your feelings and cravings – kind of lifestyle for two months now, like trying on a pair of new shoes
and it’s been really refreshing.
extreme,
but refreshing.
and i’ve been learning a lot about what healthy lifestyle is and isn’t.
we all do it,
when we find something we like, that makes us happy, that gives us a lil bit of love, attention, and sweetness,
we become addicted.
well i do.
i want it on everything and all the time
until i get so sick of it,
it’s time to move on to something else!
i guess that’s what happens with passionate people. :)
so funny.
so extreme.
self control time.
as much as i hate following rules, i am the worse kind of rule follower -
i love to follow the rules long enough to change them, and that’s not without all the kicking and screaming a long the way.
i push my body, mind, and soul until it can’t go anymore to figure out all my limitations, and then try to break them again.
but i guess that is exactly it.
my lifestyle is switching for the first time,
instead of breaking rules
i have none.
and that’s scary to me.
i’ve been eating whenever i want,
drinking whatever i want,
sleeping if any whenever i want
…it’s been pure gluttony at it’s best
and my health is taking a toll.
so again,
i post about balance
today.
it’s all about finding that sweet spot in the middle of the pendulum
some days we swing from side to side like crazy
and some days we are still
there’s much to be said about following a structured eating plan and following a regular exercise routine (or simply getting enough of it in one week)
a good friend told me yesterday
“the best time to do something you know is good for you is when you don’t feel like doing it at all” HAHAHAHAHAHA
“that way you feel extra accomplished afterwards, and it was good for you – like exercising, & eating healthy”
yea why is it so hard to do the right thing?
“i dunno but you just gotta trust yourself”
so as much as i want to slather maple syrup all over everything lately,
moderation is key.
and it’s not about cutting things out of my life that are fun but knowing they are bad for me
but it’s more about doing more that i know IS good for me to balance out all the fun.
cuz what is the good without the bad
and what is bad without the good?
they are relative terms co-dependant on each others definition to mean something on it’s own.
mmm if only there was a counter part to maple syrup the way rice goes with beans.
maybe there is –
let’s begin the search!
happy eating ;)
