THIS IS WHY YOU’RE FAT
thanks for the link Q!
HAHAHAHA – check out the oreo stuffing tower — omg.
ewwww…
now if you wanted to eat some good fat –
try halving an AVOCADO
take out the pit
drizzle with extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper (fresh ground is best)
grab a spoon and enjoy! :)
(if you can’t finish both halves, leave the pit in the one you want to save — wrap it up and place it in the fridge. the pit prevents it from browning!!!)
now deep frying isn’t necessarily bad –
fresh oil heated to 375 degrees serves as a perfect cooking medium
and if you have the perfect batter –
yum. it just adds to the experience of deep frying
think of the last time you had REALLY good tempura ;) or fresh fish and chips or a really good fried chicken out of a mom’s kitchen.
perfectly fried foods aren’t greesy b/c they are done right and don’t absorb all the oil, they are drained off, and the crispy batter actually protects the food inside from all that, well oil.. haha
problem is, no one ever wants to deep fry at home, cuz you’ll be scrubbing grease out of cracks and out of your hair for months, (unless you’re my mom and cling wraps the entire kitchen – hahaha)
and the fact that it’s hard to dispose of oil, and it’s dangerous, and it’s a pain in the butt to change deep fryer oils and clean them out that most restaurants hardly change their deep frying oil.
it’s kind of gross, but you should know.
this is where the problem starts –
places that use old, brown, chemically nasty USED oil over and over again to fry their food
makes food bad, greasy, oily, and smelly.
i’m sure you know what i’m talking about –
walking out of any place after a burger and or fried anything, and you, your clothes, and your hair smell like grease until your next shower or laundry day.
ewww.
yup, that’s a pretty good indication that the place you just ate at, probably hasn’t changed their oil in a LONG TIME.
chances are it’s brownish black, it’s got floating bits in it, and it’s just hella nasty.
i once watched a documentary on america’s oldest burger joints.
there’s one place that’s pride and joy was the fact that they have NEVER changed their oil, IT WAS 90 YEARS OLD.
i believe this was in memphis.
the shot of the oil was opaque & black, and they believe that that is the secret to why their DEEP FRIED BURGERS are SO GOOD.
:P i almost puked when i saw it. and when they moved locations, they had the oil police escorted to the new restaurant location. lol. omg. now that is extreme.
and if that doesn’t make you sick, i don’t know what will.
so if you’re gonna eat it anyway -
exercise people!
sweat this stuff out of your system.
that’s what makes you fat and sick.
your body has a pretty good filtering system for all the good and the bad things you throw in there,
but you need to help it out every week by sweating and drinking water, and detoxing that shit out, literally.
you need to eat veggies and fibre and fruit and wheat to filter that stuff out. it’s like an exit strategy for your body.
hmm think of it this way:
it’s like a car –
it needs maintenance,
it needs oil changes every 3000 miles, and it needs gas.
it need an exterior wash, and it needs a detailing inside every so often,
and the cleaner and well maintained it is, the more enjoyment you’ll get out of it, and the more milage you’ll get.
of course you can run the thing into the ground,
but it won’t last as long, and those miles better be damn worth it if it’ going to be so shot lived.
don’t get fat,
you’ll just get really sad, depressed, and die.
and we’re all going to die anyway,
so why not love yourself and be able to enjoy yourself along the way? ;)
i have choices,
you have choices,
and we all have endless resources.
and i’m not talking about genetics people — people have different shapes and sizes and curves. fat people historically are healthier and evolutionary speaking are supposed to outlive those skinny starving malnourished people running in the wild.
healthy fat curvy people are sexy, it’s instinctual.
What i’m talking about is the 21st century epidemic, where for the first time in human history, we have fat malnourished sick people due to empty calories; processed crap that people eat to “get by” for convenience, people who pay millions of dollars in health care each year (without insurance – why do you think US health insurance companies make so much money, it’s a business, they don’t care about you! watch SICKO if you’ve not convinced and do some research) and these are the same people who will notice how much good food really costs — investing in your body everyday is worth more than the average of $100,000/ person in hospital fees, i think. again, also why doctors and lawyers make so much money. think about it.
yes organic food is expensive -
but there are a LOT of guidelines that organic farms have to follow in order to sustain itself and make money. invest in that!
these people are trying and working very hard to make sure your food is safe, that this food is good to eat, and that this food doesn’t have health consequences.
local farmer’s markets are filled with farmers who work their behinds off making, growing food with care.
these people care about what you eat, they care about your health, and they care about connecting to the earth.
invest in them. because they invest in you without you knowing it, just to give you an option and another food resource in our land of plenty.
feed yourselves folks & eat smart ;)
love yourself first.
oxox J xoxox
ps – my friend turned over the bottle of day/nightquil and one of the ingredients in it was HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.
how bout them apples. – why do we need that in “medicine”?! question your food and where it’s coming from: ALL OF IT.
